Job Description
This position leads the Purchasing Services team, responsible for the execution and lifecycle management of purchase requisitions and purchase orders, supplier maintenance (in partnership with Supplier Enablement), and ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, operational discipline, and a continuous improvement mindset to support Intuitive’s mission and growth
Roles & Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Development
Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing Purchasing Services team that delivers accurate, timely and customer-focused procurement support.
Define team objectives, monitor performance metrics and ensure measurable impact to Intuitive’s procurement operations
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement in alignment with Intuitive’s values of integrity and innovation.
Procurement Operations and Service Delivery
Oversee and streamline the purchase requisition and purchase order lifecycle, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timely execution.
Ensure all purchasing activity meets Intuitive’s internal policies, SOX, and regulatory requirements.
Serve as the primary escalation point for procurement-related inquiries, approvals, and issue resolution.
Partner closely with Accounts Payable to resolve supplier invoicing issues and support process integration across enterprise systems.
Compliance and Risk Management
Lead and support quarterly SOX and compliance testing requirements, ensuring timely, accurate completion and robust documentation.
Establish and maintain internal controls to mitigate risk across procurement and supplier data processes.
Collaborate with internal audit, finance, and compliance teams to address findings and strengthen governance practices
Process Excellence and Continuous Improvement
Advance Coupa skills and experience of implementing and working with an Orchestration solution (e.g. Tonkean, Zip etc.)
Define and track operational metrics to measure service delivery and drive performance accountability.
Conduct root cause analysis on process gaps or recurring issues, leading initiatives that enhance efficiency and user experience.
Partner with procurement, finance, and technology teams to optimize tools, workflows, and documentation.
Lead user acceptance testing (UAT) and process validation for system enhancements within the procurement platform
Qualifications
Skills, Experience, Education, & Training:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
10+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing operations, or supplier management, including at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
Strong understanding of purchase requisition and purchase order management, supplier onboarding, and SOX or compliance processes.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams, drive measurable outcomes, and improve operational performance.
