Job Summary:
The Staff Product Manager utilizes technical skills to define and manage the development of products with cross-functional teams. This position engages in technical research, product architecture, definition, marketing, and pre/post-sales support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Includes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned):
• Execute in-depth research about customer applications and provide feedback to engineering teams on how to optimize products
• Create product roadmaps and develop strategies for successful product deployments based on deep understanding of customer requirements
• Manage products through their entire lifecycle until product EOL
• Coordinate operational activities from product kick-off to product launch; Ensure TTM launches with strong project management skills
• Drive technical issues to closure by arranging resources and engaging with other engineering teams to duplicate and debug
• Drive product quality improvement during design and manufacturing stages
• Serve as third level technical support and provide pre/post-sales support
• Manage critical support situations
• Create positioning statements, training materials, product specifications; work with marketing & sales on new products launch and promotion.
• Travel periodically to visit customers and attend trade shows
• Conduct competitive analysis and develop ecosystem with partners in the industry
• Identify Supermicro product features and enhancements and map customer requirements.
• Define, track, and report on key business metrics & market responses, including feature penetration, and acceptance.
• Utilize strong project management and technical leadership to drive product improvements and support sales.
Qualifications:
• BSEE/CS, or equivalent. MSEE is desirable
• 12+ years of direct experience in computing hardware/solutions, with increasing levels of responsibility and accountability for organization goals.
• Proven record that includes 5+ years in product development and management of servers, storage, HPC, networking etc.
• Excellent knowledge of server systems and peripherals is required
• Strong initiative and ability to work in a self-directed environment
• Effective organization and planning skills
• Ability to interact with diverse technical and non-technical groups, spanning all organizational levels
• Creative thinker, to develop new strategies and solutions
• Ability to lead extended teams and meet deadlines
• Strong understanding of market trends and customer needs
• Proven quantitative, analytical, negotiation and problem-solving skills
• Solid communications skills, both verbal and written in English is a must
Salary Range
$180,000 - $208,000
The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
