SUMMARY
This is skilled work at the journey level maintaining, fabricating and repairing structures and mechanical, plumbing and electrical equipment.
Positions allocated to this classification report to a designated supervisor and work under limited supervision. Work in this class is distinguished from higher classes by its lack of supervisory and administrative duties and from lower classes by its emphasis on specialized electrical and plumbing skills.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Depending on area of assignment:
Services, repairs, and maintains pumps, motors, and chlorinators. Installs new pumps and related equipment. Repairs, overhauls, and installs sewage or water treatment plant equipment.
Operates power tools to maintain, fabricate, and repair parts for equipment, repairs compressors, pumps, and related equipment.
Performs skilled plumbing and pipe fitting duties. Creates parts and fixtures by cutting and shaping metals.
Performs electrical repairs on facility, park, and/or plant equipment.
Maintains heating and air conditioning systems including pneumatic control systems.
For Park Operations:
Repairs and replaces toilets, sinks and urinals in public restrooms and facilities.
Repairs and replaces park bollards, fences and board walks.
Inspects park facilities and infrastructure for deficiencies; and records inspections on mobile devices.
Attends work on a continuous and regular basis.
NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Performs welding, acetylene burning, brazing and soldering. In Park Operations, this is an essential duty in the repair of park amenities and structures.
Assists in carpentry and painting tasks. In Park Operations, this is an essential duty to perform carpentry and painting tasks.
Performs minor masonry repairs to brick and block.
Replaces floor and wall tiles.
Repairs, replaces or constructs concrete sidewalks, pads and walls.
May be required to generate electronic spreadsheets and reports.
May be required to transport, mix, handle or use hazardous materials (other than cans of gasoline, batteries, pumping fuel or access to normal janitorial cleaning materials) or may be responsible for facilities or equipment carrying current, fluids or gas that could endanger the public or other employees.
Will be required to respond under emergency conditions.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
