Backed by the renowned Heart, Vascular, and Thoracic Institute, the hospital provides advanced, minimally invasive treatments for a wide range of heart and lung conditions. As a Clinical Assistant II at Indian River Hospital’s Cardiovascular Surgery Practice, you will provide professional nursing care to patients each day. A caregiver in this role should be familiar with completing nursing assessments, performing telephone triage, establishing care plans and administering medications and treatments. Your role is critical to surgical outcomes as you will coordinate care, check in on patients and answer calls. This position will allow you to further your skills and help to fulfill our promise of being the best place to receive care.
A PRN caregiver in this position works varying days from 8:00AM – 4:30PM or 8:30AM – 5:00PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide professional nursing care in an ambulatory setting.
Assess health status, complete nursing assessments, perform telephone triage and establish care plans.
Administer medications and treatments.
Initiate CPR and other emergency measures.
Notify the physician and/or Licensed Independent Provider (LIP) of abnormal findings.
Assist with specialized diagnostic procedures, therapeutic procedures and specialized patient care equipment.
Develop, evaluate, adapt and document health education and provide it to patients and families.
Cover other nursing roles within the department.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
