Job Overview

This position is part of the ADM (Aerospace Defense and Marine) Integrated Supply Chain organization.  The selected candidate will be the strategic commodity lead for several high-profile and critical commodities (molding, contract manufacturing, electronics, resins, metals, and others). The candidate will also engage with internal TE manufacturing locations for the assigned commodities. The candidate will develop and implement multi-year strategies for assigned commodities, suppliers, and parts/services to achieve established goals in supplier quality, delivery, price, and service.  The strategy and execution must be aligned with cross-functional partners such as engineering, manufacturing, product management, and functional owners. Critical to the role are need for strong knowledge of competitive bidding, negotiations, contracting processes including VMI/Consignment agreements, and technical continuous improvement for assigned commodities. This role will need to collaborate across Business Units and cross-regions for optimal TE leverage. Along with commodity management, the selected candidate will have direct reports of individual contributors that are in multiple locations within ADM.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute commodity strategies for assigned categories in line with the business needs.
  • Collaborate with the ADM Integrated Supply Chain team to support achieving Key Performance Indicators
  • Identify and select strategic suppliers within the business unit and company’s foot print / Localization goals.
  • Achieve critical annual procurement KPIs (Delivery, quality, productivity, Inventory, low cost localization, payment terms, VMI, lead-time reduction, others).
  • Drive VA/VE activities with engineering, quality and suppliers to achieve cost reductions and quality improvements.
  • Engage with NPI & Advanced Procurement teams for new project awareness and proactively work to close technology gaps into strategy.
  • Support the TEOA-P initiatives and Star Level attainment for the region and business unit.
  • Assure results are delivered compliant with TE policies and procedures.
  • Provide timely and complete responses to various corporate, segment, business unit and functional support requirements
  • Foster an environment of open collaboration with all functions of ADM as may be required to advance operational and integrated supply chain performance improvements. Actively and openly provide feedback (including constructive push-back) on Operations functional direction and action plans.

 

What your background should look like:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or Supply Chain.  Masters is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of relevant sourcing/procurement experience
