GENERAL SUMMARY
This role supports the Financial Modernization and Strategy Manager by supervising staff who carry out financial operations, reporting, data governance activities, and modernization tasks. The supervisor ensures consistent execution of established processes, coordinates implementation of modernization initiatives, and reinforces financial strategy actions within the team. The role emphasizes daily operational leadership, staff development, and maintaining strong process discipline.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Supervision and Oversight
• Provide daily oversight, direction, and coaching to the Financial Modernization Team.
• Assign and prioritize work, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to methodologies, controls, and modernization standards.
• Reinforce continuous improvement and support staff development.
• Escalate operational issues or risks and ensure delivery of accurate, timely, and high‑quality financial outputs aligned with agency strategy.
• Conduct regular guidance, feedback, and performance monitoring.
Finance Modernization
• Oversee day‑to‑day execution of modernization activities and promote a scalable, continuously improving finance organization.
• Reinforce automation, integration of systems, staff upskilling, and use of advanced analytics in operations.
• Coordinate efforts to simplify and streamline planning and reporting processes.
• Guide staff through new systems, tools, and workflows to support change management and sustainability of modernization initiatives.
• Deliver or facilitate training on new methodologies and tools.
• Monitor financial management processes and tools for accuracy, integrity, and effectiveness.
• Coach process owners and staff in strong control practices, data integrity, and continuous improvement behaviors.
Financial Strategy
• Align team activities with the Agency’s financial strategy and reinforce priorities, expectations, and connections to organizational goals.
• Ensure adherence to governance requirements, laws, policies, and operational constraints.
• Gather and validate financial data for scenario development and evaluation.
• Coordinate execution of strategy actions and ensure accurate, timely completion.
• Track and report operational KPIs and risk indicators, escalating issues as needed.
• Support benchmarking and standards reviews by preparing data and validating practices.
• Prepare internal reporting materials or provide accurate data inputs for external reporting.
• Coordinate cross‑functional collaboration and team participation in strategy‑aligned initiatives.
• Ensure team processes remain compliant, efficient, and effective.
Business Case Analysis
• Gather accurate data and prepare preliminary analyses to support evaluation of new and greenfield business initiatives.
• Provide operational insights for decision‑making and resource allocation.
• Prepare foundational analytics, metrics, and risk indicators for performance management and business case development.
• Ensure staff apply consistent data standards, prioritization practices, and resource evaluation guidelines.
• Monitor performance metrics for approved initiatives and escalate risks or emerging issues.
Must participate on the Emergency Response team (ERO) when designated and support the biennial refueling outage.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s level education with a technical emphasis in accounting, finance, economics, business operations/industrial management, data analytics, or other related technical degree from an accredited college or university.
Minimum 6 years of progressive finance leadership experience in a large complex organization delivering proven strategic results focused on growth, business operational excellence, and sustained financial competitiveness.
Pay Range
$126,362.00 - $189,542.00 AnnualMidpoint:
$157,952.00Typically, selected candidates are hired between the minimum and midpoint of the range, based on applicable experience and qualifications, market rate, internal equity, and budgetary allowances.
Offers will be negotiated based on each candidate's qualifications.
