Design Assistant, Special Projects, Collaborations & Lifestyle (Leathergoods) – New York, NY

 

Primary Purpose: The Design Assistant, Special Projects, Collaborations & Lifestyle will partner closely with the Design team to develop and design product for special projects and collaborations that support unique merchandising, brand and marketing needs. The Design Assistant will collaborate on concepts each season that are fashion driven and reflective of the creative vision and Coach aesthetic. You will be a part of a dynamic, creative environment where you will collaborate with talented designers and cross-functional partners in the business. · Design for all special projects including but not limited to pop-up shops, events, and collaborations.

· Partner with senior design leadership to refine seasonal concepts, materials, hardware, and color palette for collections.

· Create life-size sketches & color CADS using Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop.

· Responsible for department timeline adherence, ensuring all products and seasonal concepts deliver through to meet key milestones and final calendar dates.

· Responsible for upholding design integrity, high quality execution, and timeliness throughout the entire development process from concept through commercialization.

· Partner cross-functionally and drive process with Merchandising, Sourcing, Product Development, Vendors, Public Relations, Creative, Production & Logistics, Legal, and Customer Experience.

An outstanding professional will have…

· Minimum 1+ years of leathergoods experience in a luxury brand 

· Excellent hand sketching skills; ability to create both freeform garment renderings and renderings on figure drawings

· Ability to CAD technical drawings

· Understanding of materials, hardware, leather, and construction.

· Strong working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Office
