Security Officer

SUMMARY

The Security Officer under the direction of the Security Sergeant executes and enforces the Tribes gaming operations procedures and controls. Security officers assist in enforcing the Casinos gaming regulations, policies and procedures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Patrols, periodically, buildings, of Eagle Mountain Casino and Gaming Commission to prevent and discover crimes, maintain order, and answer calls and complaints.
2. Escorts money, chip fills, machine and hand-written tickets carried by Casino personnel.
3. Observes and signs for opening of machines and stands guard on drop and count activities.
4. Assures safety of Team Members and Guests while on Casino operation premises and other areas of the Reservation as determined by management.
5. To remain mobile at all times in securing all areas of the Tribes gaming operation.
6. Cooperate with and enforce all regulations, laws and procedures of all Casino departments and outside Law Enforcement Agencies.
7. Escort Guests and Team Members; determined to be detrimental to the Tribes gaming operation on or off the Casino premises when requested by authorized Casino Management and Gaming Agency personnel.
8. Ensure compliance of all departmental policies and procedures.
9. Must attend and be certified in all applicable training programs required.
10. All other departmental duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

1. Must have a High School Diploma or G.E.D.
2. Must have a valid California Guard Card.
3. Must possess a valid Driver License and be insurable through the Casinos insurance carrier.
4. Displays willingness to make decisions; exhibits sound and accurate judgment; supports and explains reasoning for decisions; includes appropriate people in decision-making process.
5. Possess First Aid and CPR Certificate (obtain within 90-days of hire).
6. Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen and background check.
7. Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
8. Excellent Guest service skills.
9. Must have strong communication skills.
10. Must have strong report writing skills.
11. Must be professional, polite, and respectful towards Guests and Team Members.
12. Must be able to handle extended hours when needed.
13. Must have excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated patience, tact and respect.
14. Law Enforcement or Security Background preferred.
15. Ability to read write clearly and informatively, comprehends documents pertaining to security policies & procedures, rules & regulations and operating instructions.
16. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
17. The ability to take direction and follow orders.
18. Able to obtain and retain a gaming license through the Tule River Tribe Gaming Commission.
