Who You Are

Justworks is seeking a Senior Manager, Engineering to support our HRIS team. The HRIS team is responsible for helping companies grow, retain and manage talent using the Justworks platform. This includes providing companies with all the necessary tools, analytics and integrations at each step to help them operate with greater efficiency and confidence by automating and monitoring different employee management workflows. With rapid increase in remote work and distributed nature of companies, our focus is on providing best-in-class solutions around integrations, customer analytics, and remote onboarding.

This role will require a good understanding of business operations as well as modern technology trends and architectural patterns.  This highly impactful and visible role requires a leader who can build a long-term vision, drive execution, and establish credibility and influence across the organization.  You are comfortable talking to business leaders using business vocabularies and also at ease talking to engineers about modern technologies.  You understand what customers need today and you understand what we will need to do proactively to serve our customers in the future.

We expect the size of this group will grow significantly over time and this is a mission critical role.

Your Success Profile

What You Will Work On

• Lead the teams that focus on creating unified and consistent experiences for our customers
• Proactively plan and execute the roadmap with Continuous Delivery as the first principle.
• Align and develop product/platform roadmap in partnership with Product, Design, and other stakeholders
• Effectively embrace, communicate, and evangelize overall business strategy and direction of roadmap
• Communicate and coordinate with other teams in and out of engineering to understand the requirements and opportunities for improvement, and to improve efficiency of how we deliver.

• Build relationships with peers and stakeholders to foster cross-functional/team/department collaboration

• Help recruit, source, interview and hire across the entire engineering team
• Cultivate engineering culture based on Justworks’ core values while growing, mentoring, and developing a team of talented managers and engineers
• Provide guidance (both technical and non-technical) and support growth in other engineers on the team and across other teams
• Ensure accountability and drive engagement by creating an environment where people are motivated to do their best to help the team meet commitments and achieve goals/objectives
• Bring new ideas to scale the engineering organization as a part of the senior engineering leadership group.
• Create robust technical solutions for complex business challenges and improve team delivery through Agile practices; help define and communicate technical standards and best practices
• Enhance our testing, monitoring and continuous deployment infrastructure
• Perform other related duties as assigned
