Description

The Department of Pediatrics, Section of Emergency Medicine at the Yale University School of Medicine is seeking an outstanding, full-time Pediatric Emergency Medicine physician at the Assistant Professor level on the Academic Clinician or Clinician Educator-Scholar track. Experienced applicants may apply. Final rank and appointment will be determined based on a variety of factors including academic record. This position will focus on clinical responsibilities in our three sites of care: the tertiary-care pediatric ED at Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital in New Haven, CT, our academic-affiliated community ED at Bridgeport Hospital, and our community ED at Greenwich Hospital. The Yale Pediatric Hospitalist team provides care for admitted patients at both sites and our Pediatric Critical Care Transport Team helps to facilitate interhospital transports.

The Section of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Yale has over 20 physicians with expertise and national reputations in research, education, toxicology, simulation, ultrasound, global health, and injury prevention, as well as a successful fellowship program. The PEM physician should be committed to excellent clinical care with enthusiasm for improving the quality of care and education of our patients and staff. Clinical services are supported by a team of advanced practice providers, emergency pediatricians, nurses with pediatric expertise and child life specialists. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about participation in the clinical and educational mission of the Section, including training of an outstanding cadre of residents and fellows, and the opportunity to participate in quality improvement efforts, clinical scholarship, and teaching.

Southern Connecticut boasts beautiful shoreline, excellent schools, numerous recreational opportunities, and easy access to New York City, as well as the New England shore and ski areas.

Qualifications

Applicants should be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine and qualified for an appointment to the faculty at Yale School of Medicine.
