Associate Underwriter Marine Hull (Hybrid)

About the Role

 

The candidate will join our Marine Hull Underwriting team in Genoa in the handling of insurance business for our corporate customers and their brokers. Duties and responsibilities directly impact productivity, process efficiency, timeliness, profitability and accuracy of the underwriting process as well as the service delivery to customers and brokers. This position may require occasional travel for business meetings or training.

 

 Your main tasks will include the following:

•        To support the Underwriting team with renewal preparation and endorsement triaging

•        To conduct sector specific market analysis of portfolio and claim patterns

•        To accurately reflect the terms and conditions of business written in our administration systems

•        Once your training will be completed you will start being in contact with clients, brokers and associations and you'll be expected to provide clients (Shipowners, Shipyards) with solutions which meet their needs.

 

Additionally you will:

•        support the team in certain administration activities, mainly policies / endorsements handling

•        Follow-up on outstanding information or items as per internal guidelines following standard operating procedures

•        Contribute to the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures and continuous improvement of our tools and processes by providing user feedback and sharing improvement ideas.

In the role of Underwriting Associate you will engage with all the other functions in centralized and offshore locations.

 You have:

 - Bachelor' s Degree/Master 's degree or equivalent experience

- Maritime, economical or legal background preferred.

- Experience in Hull and Liability insurance underwriting or broking preferred.

- Wide MS Office knowledge.- Proficient in English. Italian mother tongue. Other languages would also be of benefit.
