Job Description

Visa Token Services is at the forefront of Visa payments technology in the digital space.  Tokens replaces sensitive information during transactions, shielding user data from potential risks and fosters consumer trust in digital payments.  VTS empowers a seamless and personalized experience across channels, allowing users to make purchases with confidence, whether online, in-app, or at the point of sale.

The team is responsible for building out the underlying platform and architecture along with core services for the ecosystem e.g., token provisioning, payments with tokens, token lifecycle management and reporting.   The team is also responsible for supporting new use cases in close collaboration cross-functionally across Visa. 

We are looking for a highly experienced and strategic leader for Visa Token Services in the role of Senior Director, Platform'. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing platform improvements and re-design on token architecture in close collaboration with Technology and Client Services so that VTS can better scale and deploy quickly globally.  This leader is accountable for the continuously improvement in the performance and quality of Visa tokens. 

Essential Functions

• Manage a group of product managers, partnered closely with a large team tech developers and architects.  Build and lead a high-performing global team, providing guidance, mentorship, and development opportunities.
• Drive platform services management, overseeing the design, deployment, and optimization of global platforms.  Working closely with Technology, manage the build-out of a more modern, flexible platform to support tokenization services across Visa.  Work entails removing mainframe dependencies and continuously assessing alignment and bringing together of core, common services inclusive of Token ID
• Lead platform localization efforts for new market expansion, adapting solutions to meet regional and market-specific data requirements.  Partner closely with Regional Product and Client Services to deploy new instances of Visa Token Services in these markets for smooth implementation.
• Enhance token and token vault design to be more flexible around an increasing variety of use cases—both in face-to-face and digital payments, as well as for consumer and commercial money movement segments.  Take challenged experiences and error-prone product processes, ideate approaches and drive continuous improvements. 
• Assess our client onboarding experience, including developer content and technical specifications.  Drive impactful changes—make the experience learning about and integrating into Visa token services as a client developer compelling and smoother.
• Collaborate with risk management teams to implement robust security measures for tokenized transactions.  Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to tokenization and platform services.  Manage internal SLA-type measures.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

• 15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience
• Prior payments technology experience
• Prior product management or software engineering background
• Strong technical knowledge and ability to work closely with all roles within Technology.
• Familiarity with platform products and deep understanding of how tokenization works in the payments context
• Leader, motivator and strong collaborator who can demonstrate success in delivering
