Role Description:

As a Senior Product Designer at ShipBob, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience and interface of our flagship fulfillment software tailored for ecommerce merchants. Collaborating closely with a team of top-tier developers and product managers, you will spearhead the evolution of our ecommerce software solution. Our overarching goal is to create a versatile platform catering to the diverse needs of ecommerce sellers, spanning from burgeoning startups to established online retailers. 

The ideal candidate for this role is a visionary problem solver, adept at navigating complex design challenges autonomously while adhering to meticulous attention to detail. Operating within an agile development framework, you will be instrumental in establishing and refining the core design principles that underpin ShipBob's offerings. What you’ll do:

  • Manage the UX and UI design efforts for ShipBob's fulfillment software, ensuring a seamless and intuitive user experience. 
  • Guide user research using qualitative (interviews, workshops) and quantitative (surveys, web analytics) methods. 
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate product requirements into elegant and user-centric design solutions. 
  • Champion design thinking methodologies, advocating for user empathy and iterative prototyping to drive continuous improvement. 
  • Establish and maintain design systems and guidelines to ensure consistency and scalability across the product suite. 
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices, incorporating innovative design techniques to enhance the product's competitive edge. 
  • Be an advocate for the user experience to influence the backlog and feature scoping. 
  • Have fun building the best end-to-end fulfillment technology on the market!

What you’ll bring to the table:

  • Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in UX/UI design, preferably with a focus on software products or ecommerce platforms. 
  • A robust portfolio showcasing a range of projects demonstrating your ability to manage end-to-end design processes and deliver impactful solutions. 
  • Proficiency in industry-standard design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar, along with a solid understanding of design principles and methodologies. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage design initiatives, provide feedback to other designers, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and stakeholders. 
  • Deep understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies, with a track record of conducting user research, usability testing, and incorporating feedback into design iterations. 
  • Experience working in agile development environments, with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and iterate on designs in response to feedback and evolving requirements. 
  • Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business goals and user needs into innovative and actionable design solutions. 

Classification: Salaried/Exempt
