Location: Remote - This position may be performed remotely in states where the company is authorized to employ individuals.
Compensation: The base pay range for this position is $200,000. - $300,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, internal equity, and other job-related factors.
This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, or other incentive compensation in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan of up to a 30% Bonus Target.
Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm (Hours subject to change based on the needs of the business)

Employment Logistics:
This role provides leadership over the design, execution, and optimization of First Mile pickup operations, owning transportation from customer origin through network injection across multiple modalities (trailers, box trucks, vans, and partner solutions). You will build scalable, flexible pickup models that balance cost, service, and growth across SMB, enterprise, and marketplace customer channels.
You will operate as a systems thinker, designing end-to-end processes, operating models, and performance frameworks that enable efficient scaling while maintaining service reliability. This role oversees a $100M+ transportation budget and leads a team of 10+ managers responsible for day-to-day execution, network expansion, and continuous improvement.

The Must-Haves:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• 15+ years of relevant experience leading teams and divisions
• Comprehensive understanding of transportation, supply chain operations, and logistics in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated ability to design and scale multi-modal transportation solutions
• Strong competency interpreting operational KPIs, capacity models, cost analysis, and performance metrics
• Strong operational and financial acumen, including P&L ownership and budget accountability (including ownership of large transportation spend)
• Proven ability to lead large, diverse teams with accountability for hiring, performance management, coaching, corrective action, and evaluations

Your Mission in Motion:
• First Mile strategy & multi-modal execution: Own First Mile pickup strategy and execution across all transportation modes (trailer, box truck, van, and hybrid solutions), ensuring alignment with network needs.
• Pickup model design & scalability: Design and deploy multi-modal pickup models tailored to customer profiles, volume density, and service requirements while optimizing trade-offs between cost, service levels, and scalability.
• Operating model, processes & workflows: Build and implement end-to-end processes, operating standards, and system workflows to support efficient and scalable pickup operations.
• Network design & capacity planning: Lead network design efforts including customer-to-node mapping, routing strategy, and capacity planning.
• Financial ownership & performance frameworks: Oversee transportation spend across a $100M+ budget while developing and managing KPIs for service, cost, asset utilization, and pickup reliability.
• Continuous improvement & operational efficiency: Drive initiatives to reduce variability, improve predictability, and optimize overall operational efficiency.
• Peak, surge & onboarding readiness: Lead peak planning, volume surges, and new customer onboardings requiring First
