About the role

The Proposal Manager is responsible for managing, coordinating, and delivering responses for new business opportunities through the Request For Proposal (RFP) process to strengthen and grow our position as the leader for airport retail and dining concessions in North America. The position will lead the design, creative and technical writing, editing, and production for specific retail and restaurant proposals and oral presentations that are compliant with client-defined requirements. The role will also support marketing programs and activities related to advertising, trade shows/conference participation, research, business development, and internal communications.

A successful Proposal Manager is a pro-active, big-picture thinker with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, distil information, effectively manage timelines and tasks, work with cross-functional teams, and communicate effectively across multiple disciplines.

About the company: Paradies Lagardère is an award-winning airport concessionaire operating more than 950 national, local and proprietary retail stores and restaurants in 100 airports across North America. It’s headquartered in the Vining, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta, with another office in Toronto, Canada. This position will work out of the Atlanta office.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute full, compliant responses to RFPs: Coordinate with the business development team to ensure compliance and timely completion
  • Review, interpret, and analyze airport RFP documents and prepare summaries to educate internal teams on the requirements and highlights of each opportunity
  • Research, develop, edit, and continuously improve written content (creative and technical) and develop clear, creative, and enticing descriptions of retail stores and restaurants ensuring compliance with all RFP requirements
  • Coordinate and/or develop the layout and graphic design of proposal sections using Adobe InDesign in a creative and practical manner
  • Incorporate information from Subject Matter Experts (SME) to ensure information is accurate, up to date, relevant
  • Manage the proposal production through preparation, editing, final binding, and shipping of all proposals
  • Communicate effectively with various departments (Finance, Business Development, Legal, Retail Merchandising, Dining, Human Resources, etc.) throughout the RFP process with updates on timelines, action items, and required data
  • When required, manage outsourced resourced and vendors that will assist with RFP production and execution
  • Contribute to the development and execution of RFP oral presentations, including presentation design (PowerPoint), project management, rehearsal room coordination, and other duties as needed
  • Monitor the travel retail market (airports, competitors, consumers, trends, etc.) and communicate key factors in gaining advantages and opportunities to win new RFPs
  • Support the Business Development and Marketing teams in additional business opportunities
  • Support general marketing activities, including, but not limited to: national advertisements, research, company sales collateral, social media, trade show/conference participation, PR, etc.

 

 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Proposal Management, Marketing, or equivalent work experience required
  • 7-8 years of experience required in proposal development, content writing, or related field
  • Experience writing proposals and/or a business development/sales role is highly desirable; Experience in the restaurant and/or retail industry not required.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and reading comprehension skills with the ability to deconstruct complex RFPs, and proof and edit documents for copy-editing, grammar, style, spelling and punctuation
  • Adobe Creative Suite skills including InDesign and Acrobat Pro and proficiency in MS office; PowerPoint skills preferred
  • Strong teamwork, project management and organizational skills with experience in open communication channels across multiple functions and departments
  • Critical thinker with ability to prioritize and strong attention to detail is a must.
  • Must be self-sufficient and able to work with little supervision once the role is understood
  • Must be deadline driven and multi-task efficiently
  • May require some overtime or outside of office hours work
