About the role

LOCATION
Position based in Addison, TX (Dallas area).

TERM
Internship is available for 6 months, with start date between March and May 2026.

THE OPPORTUNITY
This internship offers a front-row seat to the future of Texas golf.

As a Junior Golf & Player Development Intern, you’ll be part of the team that runs the TGA’s premier junior competitions, including the Legends Junior Tour and will conduct the 100th Texas Junior Amateur Championship in 2026 — one of the oldest and most celebrated junior events in the country.

In addition to working alongside experienced staff in all areas of tournament operations, you’ll play an active role in supporting Team Texas, the state’s official program within the USGA’s U.S. National Development Program (USNDP). You’ll assist in coordinating player and Committee communication, data and point standings, and help identify and prepare the next generation of elite golfers in Texas.

This role is ideal for someone who loves the game, thrives in a team environment, and wants to make an impact on its future. Many TGA interns have gone on to full-time positions within the Association or other golf organizations nationwide — while there’s no hiring guarantee, the experience and exposure gained here opens real doors for a career in golf administration.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Assist in planning and conducting junior golf tournaments and championships, including all aspects of event setup, course marking, starting, and scoring.
- Serve as support for Team Texas, helping coordinate communications, data and point standings, SafeSport and certification standards, and contribute to planning for team programming in 2027.
- Provide on-site support for the 100th Texas Junior Amateur Championship, including event preparation, media coverage, and player engagement activities.
- Work alongside the Legends Junior Tour staff on daily tournament operations, player services, and media support.
- Assist with database management, website updates, and special projects related to junior golf development.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- A college degree (completed or in progress)
- A strong interest in golf, sportsand player development
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting
- Comfort working outdoors and traveling statewide
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with photography or social media tools preferred
- A proactive, dependable, and enthusiastic attitude
