Position Overview

Saylor seeks a Senior Motion Designer to lead and execute creative projects with a high level of motion design expertise and professionalism. As a Senior Motion Designer, you will be pivotal in driving the creative direction of projects, mentoring junior staff, and enhancing our motion design outputs. This role requires a seasoned professional who can seamlessly integrate sophisticated motion design solutions with strategic marketing objectives.

The Senior Motion Designer will work closely with Saylor’s Art Directors to manage the day-to-day design needs of specific agency clients. They will be responsible for researching/educating themselves and junior members of the Design Team on our client’s visual goals, building and pitching artistic directions, executing comprehensive design needs for campaigns, and assisting in the supervision of freelance designers on a needs basis. Additionally, they will contribute to creative brainstorms, and uplevel the entire team’s creative acumen.

The Senior Motion Designer will work across platforms (social, CRM, OOH, etc.), art styles, and a diverse set of client needs. We are looking for a passionate motion designer who is able to communicate effectively and foster a positive work environment. The ideal candidate will have exceptional social/editorial instincts, sound judgment, and the ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously. 

Location and Salary

This is a full-time, exempt role with a salary range of $85,000-$125,000 depending on experience. This person must be based in California, Georgia, New Jersey, New York or Texas.

Responsibilities:

• Creative Leadership: In tandem with the Art Directors, lead the motion design process from concept to completion. Translate marketing objectives into clear creative strategies.
• Mentorship: Guide junior designers by providing creative feedback and encouraging professional growth within the design team.
• Design Execution: Develop and implement visual elements across various media, including digital, social, OOH, and more, ensuring all materials are visually engaging and on-brand.
• Project Management: Oversee multiple projects from conception through completion in collaboration with cross-functional team members.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with the Art Directors and cross-functional team members to ensure design specifications are met and client visions are brought to life with high creative standards.
• Innovative Practices: Stay on the pulse of industry trends and integrate new design technologies and methodologies into Saylor’s workflow to keep the agency at the forefront of design innovation.
  
  

Minimum Requirements:

• 5+ years of motion design experience in a senior role within a creative agency, preferably in the entertainment sector, or other fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Advanced proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite and 3D programs (Cinema 4D, Blender, etc)
• Strong portfolio showcasing a broad range of creative projects: 2D, 3D, typography
• Excellent communication, organizational, and team collaboration skills.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor junior team members and manage significant design initiatives
• A finger on the pulse of what’s new in design and culture, including AI tools and applications
• A strong eye for visual composition, typography, and a deep understanding of motion best practices
• Experience working in a diverse range of mediums, formats, and projects
• Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
• Able to give and receive constructive criticism
