Ingredion is currently recruiting for the position of QC Laboratory Lead based at the North Kansas City site. This position is responsible for providing leadership for the implementation and continuous improvement of the NKC plant’s analytical quality systems, processes, and supporting records. The Laboratory Supervisor will use technical expertise, knowledge of the corn wet milling business, and an understanding of company goals to work with Operations, Quality Assurance, and customers to ensure product quality. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory and customer requirements and working with site management to make these systems consistent, practical, and cost effective. We produce over 120 different products as a leading manufacturer of engineered materials, specialty foods, healthcare and industrial starches.
As the QC Laboratory Lead, your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and managing Oversee the QC team to maintain accurate and functional quality records, instructions, and manuals in compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 22000 and NonGMO standards and ensuring records are readily retrievable., assuring that all testing is performed according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and in accordance to safety requirements.
- Leading the QC team to produce precise, accurate, and timely test data and acting as the technical expert on QC expectations for plant personnel, providing assistance as needed; act as on-call quality representative on a rotating basis.
- Managing laboratory staff as determined by business needs.
- Leading and assisting lab technicians to identify and deliver on annual quality objectives, including ISO 9001, ISO 22000 and NonGMO standards.
- Leading all safety, quality, and on-the-job training for laboratory technicians.
- Providing training and technical support to laboratory analysts and plant operators in the use of applicable analytical equipment and methodologies.
- Monitoring and approving products and investigating analytical discrepancies as required, in order to ensure that only products that meet company, customer, and regulatory specifications are released.
- Monitoring and analyzing allof finished product and in-process data that is entered in testing, and reporting to appropriate parties using either SAP or DataPro to ensure timely release of material.
- Providing communication to interested parties surrounding testing issues and non-conforming material, ensuring their timely completion.that non-conforming material is controlled and managed appropriately to prevent unintentional release to customers.
- Directing the operation of the plant QC team to ensure the timely and proper release of products based on effective sampling and accurate and appropriate testing using Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and meeting all safety requirements. Ensuring SAP data is up to date and that relevant business processes are followed.
- Working with Operations and Quality Assurance to understand current demands onof laboratory services, ensuring that in support of the business and customer needs, providing priorities to personnel to ensure completion of non-routine testing is prioritized and actions are performed in a timely manner.
- Providing customers, technical sales, and plant operations with timely technical support related to our products including root cause investigation of customer complaints, product failures and analytical service requests from customers as well as communicating trends and significant findings to management.
- Providing training and technical support to laboratory technicians, analysts and operators in the use of applicable analytical equipment and methodologies.
- Driving continuous improvement and applying scientific methodology, use of root cause and statistical analysis tools to support recommendations for process improvements.
- Analyzing, evaluating, and implementing recommendations on product quality attributes.
- Determining disposition, root cause, and corrective action in cases of nonconforming product or other customer issues in order to ensure customer satisfaction and minimize recurring quality problems.
- Provide technical assistance to Operations, Sales, Technical Service, Customer Service, and order Coordination in order to support the achievement of safety, quality, production, and sales goals.
