BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) Program Supervisor leads the Unified Government Public Health Department’s efforts in planning, implementing, and evaluating the Wyandotte County CHIP. This role supervises the Violence Prevention and Substance Misuse Coordinators, as well as two Peer Support Specialists. The supervisor will ensure that operations comply with policies and procedures and guide the team on best practices for project planning, evaluation, and collective impact strategies. The role requires fostering partnerships with diverse stakeholders, including community leaders, elected officials, and other Unified Government departments, to address the social determinants of health. The Supervisor will lead efforts to secure funding for CHIP priorities and work to maintain sustainability across initiatives. They will also provide regular reports and presentations to community partners and leaders. This role requires strong leadership, communication skills, and commitment to public health improvement in Wyandotte County. It is a grant-funded position through a partnership with a local health foundation, which is renewed annually.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in public health, communications, public administration, community development, planning, community health, in a related field and two years of related program experience or, an equivalent combination of education to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. Master of Public Health preferred. Two years of work experience in community work, nonprofit, government, health, mobilization, or another relevant field and one year of formal or informal supervisory experience. Strong interpersonal and public speaking skills. Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies. Grant writing and/or grant management experience. Knowledge of computer skills (Microsoft Office) and office equipment. Must reside in Wyandotte County or be willing to relocate within 12 months of the date of hire.
Salary Range:
$29.62-$40.43/hr.
