This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Facilities, and Security, and Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.We are a diverse team of collaborators, doers, and problem- solvers who are relentlessly committed to a culture of safety. As part of a hardworking team with a diverse background, you will support the research and development efforts of new and emerging manufacturing technologies in our Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Lab. In this hands-on role you will work directly with members of the Advanced Materials and Manufacturing team, applying your mechanical, electrical, CNC and manual machining experience to help to develop the next generation of materials and manufacturing technologies. Adapting to changing responsibilities is crucial in this role because of the wide range of technologies our lab supports.

- Day Shift: Monday – Friday (8—hour shifts)
Responsibilities Include but not limited to:
- Responsible for developing, assembling, testing and modifying electromechanical systems.
- Fabricate components using a variety of methods including machining, forming, casting, welding, and additive methods.
- Ability to operate CNC machines and manual machines.
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, models, and descriptions.
- Documenting processes used while conducting R&D manufacturing development.
- Actively participating in finding solutions with project team members that meet design and schedule requirements, including machine and material selection, tooling design, part programming using CAM software, machining or fabrication of parts, inspection, and communicating with the project owner.
- Laboratory organization and management of tools and consumables.
- Working both independently and collaboratively within a team of individual contributors to enable every member to succeed in their respective tasks.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 4+years of intermediate to advanced experience in hardware manufacturing, assembly and testing.
- 4+ years of intermediate to advanced mechanical skills including sealing, fasteners, coatings and adhesives.
- Ability to understand and edit G-code.
- Engineering drawing interpretation and inspection experience.
- Basic DC and AC electrical skills including basic wiring and troubleshooting of electrical power and control systems.
- Familiar with precision inspection equipment and process.
- Skilled with the use of personal computers and MS Windows based applications (Excel and Word).
- Must possess initiative, a strong work ethic, and the ability to follow directions.
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in an aerospace environment.
- Installing, repairing and programing digital controls.
- Relevant experience with Fanuc and Kuka controls.
- Background in owning part processing from programming, set up, machining, troubleshoot
