The expected ENTRY pay range for this position based on experience and equity within the Judicial Branch is $21.03 to $22.44.

This position is non-exempt under the FLSA.

About the Position

The Judicial Financial Clerk is responsible for work in clerical information processing functions of the Compliance and Monitoring Division within Adult Probation. Identifying collectability via the Debt Setoff (DSO) and the Tax Intercept (TIP) Programs.  

Standard Judicial Branch business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The position is on-site and in-person but may be eligible for a hybrid teleworking schedule following six months of employment within the role (dependent on the needs of the Judicial Branch).

Position Qualifications

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED

Experience:

• Two (2) years of accounting maintenance, bookkeeping or accounts payable and receivable experience

OR

Combined education and experience qualifications:

• Other combinations of post-secondary education and experience may be considered in substitution for the minimum qualifications on a year for year basis.

Our Preferred Candidate has:

• Experience in a court/legal environment
• Bilingual in Spanish/English

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Knowledge of:

• Research methods used to locate monies and determine their collectability 

Skill in:

• Time management 
• Microsoft Office programs, such as Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint 
• Data entry with a high degree of accuracy 

Ability to:

• Problem-solve by assessing situations, issues, and problems 
• Exercise independent judgement within legal guidelines and departmental policies and procedures to make a logic decision about the actions to take and request direction from the Supervisor as necessary 
• Demonstrate reliable attendance 
• Prioritize a variety of tasks and other specialized clerical support duties with frequent interruptions 
• Write formulas and create graphs and pivot tables in Excel 
• Assume personal responsibility by completing work assignments 
• Contribute and participate as a team-player for positive end-results 
• Accurately prepare and maintain records, files, and reports
• Handle sensitive information with confidentiality and integrity
