PRN - Lab Assistant

LabCorp wants to speak with you about exciting opportunities to join our team as a Lab assistant in Dallas, TX. In this position you will work in a fast-paced, customer-focused, and challenging environment, and will be a part of our overall mission at LabCorp: "Improving Health, Improving Lives".

Schedule: PRN/As needed basis roles and would cover all 3 (1st, 2nd, and 3rd) shifts.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
• Process culture and other samples according to SOP.
• Clean work areas, dispose of samples and locate all samples needed for testing
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment

REQUIREMENTS

• High School diploma
• Previous experience is not required but given priority
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Able to work with urine, sputum, stool and body fluid
• Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus
• High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
• Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
