Are you at the forefront of the AI revolution with the business savvy to match? As the Global Head of Gen AI, you'll be a key architect of Covestro's digital future, reporting directly to our Chief AI Officer. This visionary role demands a rare combination of cutting-edge AI expertise and sharp business acumen to harness the transformative power of generative AI technologies. In addition to our diverse benefits, you can expect an attractive starting salary between €128.400,00/year and €160.500,00/year plus a variable component for a full-time position. The starting salary is based on your qualifications and professional experience.

With great motivation and full commitment, you will take on the following tasks in detail:

• As Head of the Generative AI department, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of comprehensive, organization-wide generative artificial intelligence solutions at Covestro

• You will lead several teams and high-profile individual contributors

• You are part of the global AI leadership team, ensuring coherent AI strategy implementation and ethical considerations

• You will create an environment allowing both human and machine intelligences to collaborate and thrive

• You will be responsible for overseeing the development, deployment, and maintenance of Covestro’s agentic platform and other generative AI systems specifically tailored to Covestro's needs and use cases

• You will drive innovation in generative AI applications, exploring novel use cases in areas such as product development, customer service, process optimization, and knowledge management

• You will establish and maintain partnerships with leading research institutions, technology providers, and startups in the field of generative AI to keep Covestro at the forefront of generative AI advancements

• You will develop and implement best practices for prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and responsible use of generative AI models across the organization

The following points characterize you:

• Advanced degree, preferably Ph.D. in Math, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Natural Language Processing, or a closely related field

• Over ten years of relevant work experience, with at least 8 years in leadership roles focused on generative AI or related technologies

• Strong business acumen and results-oriented approach, including the willingness to take calculated risks and the determination to achieve and exceed EBITDA targets through innovative generative AI solutions

• Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing generative AI solutions, including experience with large language models, diffusion models, GANs, and other generative architectures

• Proven track record of leading and scaling AI teams and successfully delivering high-impact generative AI projects in large organizations

• Open-minded personality and an approachable team player (m/f/d) comfortable with working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate the potential and limitations of generative AI to diverse audiences, including C-level executives

• Fluent English skills, both written and spoken, as well as willingness and ability to travel internationally
