As a Project Manager (Delivery) role within Merseyside’s Investment (up to 33kV) team you will focus on planning and delivering operational projects, mainly high-volume and low value, and the governance of various framework contracts such as cable laying, OHL and plant.
This includes the below activities all aspects of project planning & delivery, potentially including team management opportunities, modernisation & reinforcement programmes (for switchgear replacement/ HV Plant Mod, HV OHL Mod and Secondary Reinforcement both cable/circuit and substation work), contractor management and framework management/governance and supporting the wider investment programmes such as ESCQR, PCBs, Plant Defects etc.
What you’ll be doing
Delivering district business plan outputs in line with financial, regulatory, and plan objectives whilst optimising return through incentive mechanisms.
Engaging with communities, customers and stakeholders to ensure robust communication activities throughout project delivery.
Facilitate business deliverables in line with district and licence plans which are devised to minimise outages to customers.
Efficiently and effectively deliver performance targets as appropriate, these can include customer satisfaction, sustainability, guaranteed standards, Ofgem allowance, incentive mechanisms and compliance.
Taking ownership of contract and project management.
Integrating asset stewardship and ownership.
Coordinating planning and delivery activities to improve integrity, safety and longevity of the electrical network.
Promoting an exemplary safety culture and ensures that all safety legislation is implemented and delivered through all activities.
Driving improved network reliability, system performance and network security through use of engineering decisions considering the optimal & various regulatory outputs available.
Maintaining Operational Excellence principles in all undertakings.
Ensuring the accurate and timely capture and recording of data within Corporate systems.
What you’ll bring
Project/programme management experience, with a strong performance ethos and a track record of driving and delivering projects and initiatives.
General contract, commercial and regulatory awareness with the ability to balance effective and efficient customer service and project delivery, ensuring maximum return on investment.
Effective stakeholder and customer service engagement and management.
Ability to communicate and present information effectively at all levels
Ability to manage competing priorities using sound engineering and financial judgement to determine optimal solutions.
Awareness and understanding of key business drivers and the external commercial context in which SPEN is operating.
Ability to devise solutions to complex problems/challenges.
To be successful, as a minimum you will have:
Professional qualification or 2 years experience in a similar project management/co-ordination role.
Experience in a project/operations delivery role.
Relevant network construction and operational experience.
Computer literacy.
