Your Purpose
We’re now looking to recruit a Utilities Project Manager to join our brilliant Team.
You will be responsible for the scoping and delivery of Major/Strategic Utilities capital projects, across Western Europe. Generally.
The role includes the definition of scope, cost estimates, programme schedules among departments/functions, quality assurance standards, and performance benefits, for those Capex projects with adherence to Best Practice Project management and the standards of the brilliant execution
Key Responsibilities
- Working with site operational teams, understands the site Masterplans, and develops a Utilities investment and optimisation strategy for each site.
- Understands current and future Capex availabilty for the business unit within the Supply Chain Capital plan.
- Uses good project management control principles for safety, cost, schedule management, performance delivery, risk management, planning coordination, integration where neccesary within the existing plant, scope definition, communication of progress, asset care, environmental impact, WCSC principles and procurement, delivers capital proposals supporting the business in line with the current AOP
- Manages major/strategic utilties projects/optimsation including driving and facilitating the work of third party support (equipment vendors, contractors); acts as interface between the business and the project engineering/construction teams; ensures that documentation, change requests and modifications are followed through, and, ultimately, delivers project completion within performance, budget and time frame targets. Strong supplier relationship and contract management skills are essential
- Prioritises work and resources effectively working as the Project team representative with all stakeholders to drive key project objectives.
- Understands how to apply resources efficiently. Manages Project Technicians, Craftsmen and Contract Project managers assigned to the project.
- Manages projects so as to safely shutdown the process, implement change and then bring the process back up seamlessly while minimising impact on production targets and schedules. Ensures that all legal compliance requirements are met.
- Leads benefits monitoring where appropriate, analysis and verification (performance guarantees) upon completion of the project. Ensures that new processes are documented (SOPs) and training designed and delivered to all personnel involved in its use and maintenance.

- Experience in technical department, utilities
- Experience in scoping and delivering large Utiltiies Capital projects up to 5m
- Highly experienced in Project Management Execution processes.
- Experience in setting Utilties investment and optimisation strategy for production sites.
- Strong commercial awareness and experienced in UK Engineering Contracts, specifically JCT and MF1.
- Strong Contractor Health and Safety management skills.
