Job Title: Phone Operator – ENT Department
Location: Tempe, AZ
Hours & Schedule: Monday–Thursday: 8:30am–4:30pm (1-hour lunch); Friday: 8:30am–12:30pm
Work Environment: Clinical front office – high-volume ENT medical setting
Salary / Hourly Rate: $19 – $22 per hour, based on experience

Job Summary:
The Phone Operator is essential to the flow of communication in our ENT department. This role manages a high volume of patient phone calls, facilitates scheduling, and supports administrative coordination. You'll be the voice of our clinic, often the first point of contact for patients, and a key part of ensuring they feel supported and cared for from the very beginning.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Answer 80–120 calls per day in a professional and compassionate manner
- Triage calls and direct appropriately to schedulers, medical assistants, or providers
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments using EMR system
- Document and update patient records accurately
- Coordinate with medical and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient flow
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect patient confidentiality
- Contribute to an organized, supportive, and efficient front-office environment
Prerequisites / License & Certification Requirements:
- At least 1 year of healthcare experience in a similar phone-based role
- Proven ability to manage high-volume phone calls
- Experience with patient scheduling systems and EMR software
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Outstanding communication and listening skills
- Strong emotional intelligence, patience, and empathy
