DevOps Engineer - Kubernetes & Python - REMOTE

Perficient currently has a career opportunity for a Sr. DevOps Engineer in in our National Cloud and API Management group. While our headquarters location is St. Louis, MO, this position is remote and can be based anywhere within the United States and will be working CT and ET zones.
Candidates for the DevOps Sr. Engineer position typically major in computer science, or a computer related field, and have 3 to 5 years of work experience in a related IT field. As a DevOps consultant you will work closely with technical leads and developers of various teams to implement process improvements in various domains including: source code management, continuous integration, continuous delivery automation, and infrastructure as code. You will help implement DevOps related tools and processes within our client organizations.
- Follow direction from project leads to implement platform requirements
- Interact and support cross-functional teams to architect, design, develop, test, and release system features via automation
- Work development teams support of AWS and Kubernetes
- Strong scripting skills with Python (minimum of 3 yr)
- Demonstrate knowledge in various DevOps domains (Agile practices, source control management, pipeline automation, Infrastructure as Code, etc.)
- Implement Proof-of-Concept projects to validate new DevOps solutions
- Build templates, workflows, first of a kind solutions for various DevOps use cases as directed
- Implement provided architectural solutions/designs in various DevOps disciplines
- Work with offshore team members as required as well as clients for resolving technical dependencies, issues, and risks
- Support common vision, practices, and capabilities across teams
- Engage with Technical Architects and technical staff to determine the most appropriate technical strategy and designs to meet business needs.
- An understanding of DevOps domains including Source Code Management, Continuous Integration, Deployment Automation, Infrastructure as Code, Cloud, etc.
- Experience with DevOps tooling (Git, Atlassian Jira/Confluence, CloudBees CI, Terraform, Ansible, etc.)
- Specific experience Kubernetes and Python scripting. The candidate will be required to demonstrate their knowledge of these specific tools.
- Experience with managing Kubernetes in lower and upper environments
- Strong Python scripting and programming skills - a demonstration of capability will be required
- Experience with Amazon Web Service (AWS) cloud resources
- Strong understanding of application release management within a complex environment is required
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related discipline preferred
- Minimum of 3-5 years working in a related IT field
- Minimum of 2 years of scripting experience (Groovy required, Python preferred)
- Client facing or consulting experience highly preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively via multiple channels (verbal, written, etc.) with technical and non-technical staff
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- A drive for continual self-improvement, particularly to learn and adopt new technologies

The salary range for this position takes into consideration a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, level of experience, applicable office location, training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The new hire salary range displays the minimum and maximum salary targets for this position across all US locations, and the range has not been adjusted for any specific state differentials. It is not typical for a candidate to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the unique facts and circumstances regarding each candidate. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $64,974-$149,880.
