Project Overview:
The rapid growth of AI and digitalization is fueling unprecedented demand for data centers that require large, reliable sources of energy. In response to this market trend, the Renewables & Clean Power (R&CP) team have signed an early works contract to build one of the largest gas fired power generation facilities in the U.S. Our team is helping the customer progress early-stage development, that would lead to the start of full EPC delivery this year.
The candidate will act as the Electrical Field Engineer on the Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) Project in Cheyenne, Wyoming. The candidate may start in the home office in Reston-VA; as single status, to support preconstruction planning, ahead of project mobilization to the field. This position is contingent upon project awards.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will support project field engineering by managing work planning and packaging, material management, quantity verification and validation, safety and quality control, technical inspections and testing, and system turnover coordination. Your contributions will ensure that field engineering activities are safe, complete, and meet quality standards and project requirements. Reporting to the Project Field Engineer, you will collaborate with Field Supervision, other Field Engineers, craft professionals, and additional team members as assigned. #LI-RM1
Major Responsibilities:
Work Planning & Packaging
- Coordinates the preparation of construction drawings, sketches, projections and schedules for workforce, material, and equipment requirements
- Developing installation work packages for scopes of work in support of the construction schedule.
- Providing support to field supervision in establishing requirements for manpower, tools, equipment, and material requirements for a given work evolution.
- Coordinate with other discipline superintendents and field engineers for interface coordination of construction work activities and plans.
Material Management
- Initiates requisitions for field purchases.
- Prepares quantity take-offs of field purchased material and equipment.
- Reviews material receiving reports and performs material receiving inspections.
Quantities
- Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required.
Safety / Quality Control
- Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.
- Perform quality control inspections and manage associated Inspection and Test Records (ITRs).
- Ensure completed work packages and ITRs are submitted to Turnover.
