PAY AND FAIR LABOR STANDARDS ACT (FLSA) STATUS:

Pay Range:  517

Hourly Rate:  $37.61 - $57.53 

FLSA Status:  Exempt

The normal starting pay for this position is the minimum of the pay range listed above. A higher rate of pay may be considered, dependent on the qualifications and experience of the selected applicant and/or the City’s step placement policy.

POSITION DESIGNATION 

This job classification has been designated as a safety sensitive job classification in accordance with the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act, 63 O.S., § 427.1 et seq., (OSCN 2019), effective August 29, 2019.   This means employees in this job classification can be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination if they test positive for marijuana components or metabolites, even if they possess a medical marijuana license. 

DEPARTMENTAL INFORMATION

This position is located in the Public Works Department’s Contract Administration Section. The position is responsible for all activities to prequalify contractors for eligibility to bid on construction projects or perform specific functions on public property in Oklahoma City. The duties include application review, contractor yard inspections, updates to the standard bid specifications, implementation of prequalification policies and procedures, attending bid opening and managing the Prequalification Review Board agenda. Monitoring and ensuring compliance with the Oklahoma Competitive Bidding Act, the City Charter and Municipal Codes, the Oklahoma Open Meetings Act; and specification management or operations for City departments to ensure projects are completed within the guidelines of the City’s expectations and requirements.  This position will travel outside Oklahoma for approximately 12 days per year with some overnight stays. 

JOB SUMMARY

This position is located in the Project Management Division of the Public Works Department within the City of Oklahoma City and is under the direction a supervisor. The primary purpose of this classification is to provide specialized management or operations support to various departmental work divisions. Senior Project Managers are also responsible for implementing department program functions and policies, coordinating operations activities, and planning major projects. Essential job functions include: assigning, prioritizing, and monitoring work projects both in house and at field locations; assisting in the preparation and assessm
