This is a management position within the engineering team for the Oracle Communication’s market-leading Session Border Controller (SBC) product. This position involves managing a team of senior level engineers and architects within the platform team for the SBC. In this position, the candidate will not only have people-management responsibilities but will also have project-management responsibilities as well. The candidate is not expected to have prior knowledge of the SBC as a product, but this position will require involvement in many technical discussions related to the SBC product roadmap and functionality so a background with software design, architecture or development is preferred (ideally within the telecommunications industry). Knowledge of SDLC processes and structured agile methodologies will also be helpful in this role.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 20 years experience in an engineering team developing software products, with at least 5 years of experience in a management role.
- Experience leading software development teams delivering frequent, recurring releases for an established product, in an environment where the management must balance both new features and sustaining engineering requirements into the product releases.
- Experience handling customer escalations (by direct participation in customer calls) is required.
- Experience in a technical leadership role on a project based on delivering product using an “on-prem” deployment model using highly available/redundant software, based on multi-threaded and client server applications.
- Experience delivering, designing or developing telecommunications software.
- Experience managing a product engineering team with a product that has external dependencies on both third-party commercial software and open-source software. Must have familiarity with open-source licensing models.
- Experience building high-performing geographically-distributed engineering teams and coaching, mentoring and developing best talent.
- Experience establishing and stimulating software development standards and processes along with best practices for the entire org. Working experience in a Scaled Agile/Scrum development process is preferred.
- Experience developing strategic plans to accomplish technical as well as business objectives with leadership chain, team and customers.
- Strong trouble shooting capabilities targeting complicated problems in remote systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
- Ability to multi-task and handle changing priorities.
- Excellent team skills, can-do attitude, focus on quality.
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $107,100 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
