Job Summary

Manage and document the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of revisions and/or newly created training materials and performance support (PS) documents.  Author, review, and publish training and PS materials utilizing learning content management systems while adhering to a formalized process.  Gather content for new and existing materials and facilitate the review process with subject matter experts.  Conduct train the trainer events as assigned.  Manage the assignment of computer-based (CBT) learning and create supplemental computer-based learning (CBT) content as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Author training and performance support (PS) materials utilizing the content management systems of the company for version control and accessibility for consistent instructional delivery.
  • Manage multiple projects, create/revise training and PS materials, and meet deadlines utilizing the learning design process and UGI processes. 
  • Recommend training methods and PS solutions to meet performance goals based on analysis and best practices in adult learning and instructional design to support the implementation of the training content working with Subject Matter Experts to revise content subject matter. 
  • Respond to internal and external requests for information surrounding training programs such as, learning objectives in a goals and scale format, applicable performance support materials, intended audience, and versions of training and PS content.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Utilize content management systems to author training and performance support (PS) materials, for content distribution, versioning, and managing reviews.
  • Evaluate training development requests and determine appropriate solutions.
  • Utilize knowledge taxonomies such as Webb’s Depth of Knowledge and/or Bloom’s Taxonomy to drive training design and inform learning objectives.
  • Utilize the backwards instructional design process, UGI documents and technical training processes to complete training requests and develop or revise training content. 
  • Conduct meetings with stakeholders and subject matter experts engaging in two-way communication.
  • Write clearly and concisely while adhering to the UGI style guide for materials. 
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of instructional design processes, practices, templates, and process documents.
  • Manage the review process of training and PS documents.
  • Utilize video and audio editing software as well as MS Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Share Point, Teams, and Outlook to complete work as needed and learn new technologies as acquired. 

Education and Experience

  • Completion of a Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in planning and implementing instruction in the field of education and/or instructional design. 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience creating and implementing learning opportunities as well as managing the development of content materials for targeted audiences.
  • Teaching certification and/or instructional design required; project management certification or experience preferred.
