Overview:
Pembina US Corporation's Cochin Pipeline is recruiting a Technician, Operations, to join the team. This position will support the Mankato, MN area and will report to the Day Foreman, Operations in the Transmission Business Unit, part of Pembina's Pipeline Division.
Pembina's Transmission Pipeline assets have developed through the strategic acquisition of key natural gas, ethane and condensate transportation infrastructure assets, positioned in some of the most prolific gas producing regions in western Canada and the United States. Pembina's transmission pipelines provide customers with access to premium markets primarily on a fee-for-service basis under long-term contracts through long-haul pipelines.
The Cochin Pipeline is a single-batch condensate line that spans over 1,500 miles from the Kankakee terminal in Illinois to delivery terminals near Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. The pipeline first began operating in 1979 and was acquired by Pembina Pipeline Corporation in December 2019.
This position is located in Mankato, MN.
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Support Pembina’s safety culture of "Zero by Choice" and the “Life Saving Rules”. To read more about our Life Saving Rules, visit pembina.com/safety;
- Will work as part of a team with primary role as a technician, assisting in pump station and meter station operations, and other trades when and where needed;
- Routine pipeline operations and maintenance tasks, including troubleshooting failures, repair of pump/meter station mechanical equipment, electrical troubleshooting and repair, and various tasks and projects;
- Locating and marking Cochin facilities per Pembina's Damage Prevention Program and One Call procedures prior to and during excavation;
- Ensure all maintenance and operations duties are completed safely, in compliance with Pembina's procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices;
- Provide oversight and inspection to ensure asset protection and compliance with company procedures of excavation activities near pipeline facilities;
- Participate in a 7-day on-call rotation responding as required to equipment and/or operational problems;
- Occasional overnight travel will be required;
- Ability and willingness to work overtime on an as needed basis;
- Maintain safe and reliable operations of the facilities;
- Able to work in teams effectively and encourage a positive work environment;
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas (respirator, hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, fire resistant clothing, heeled safety-toe boots, and hearing protection);
- Communicates safety issues to Managers and Safety Department;
- Effective decision-making skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills;
