Job Description

Primary Responsibilities

• Work with Agile team members and assist in developing web applications and web services using Java, SOAP, REST, XML, HTTP, and other web technologies.
• Manage multiple tasks and responsibilities in high-pressure environments; excelling at pinpointing and resolving problems in early project stages to avoid cost/time expenses.
• Deliver high-quality projects on time, through the ability to design architecture, write high-quality code, and execute practical unit test.
• Assist in the integration of third-party products with existing infrastructure.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work equally well in self-managed and team-based Agile projects.
• Work with internal customers to gather business processes and project requirements.
• Researches, designs, and develops computer software systems, in conjunction with hardware product development/applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
• Seek guidance and collaborate on software requirements to determine the feasibility of the design within time and cost constraints.
• Develops software system testing procedures, programming, and documentation.
• Performs miscellaneous projects as assigned, assisting senior engineers as needed.
• Aggressively seek new knowledge, skills, and abilities as they relate to software engineering.
• Present a final project or summary of learning to the team at the end of the internship.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Basic understanding of databases, spreadsheets, and office productivity tools (e.g., Excel formulas, Google Forms, SharePoint)

• Working knowledge of Agile, specifically Scrum methodologies

• Familiarity with help desks, ticketing systems, or cloud-based tools is a plus

• Strong analytical, technical troubleshooting, and organizational skills

• Comfortable learning and using new systems and applications

• Ability to be comfortable with ambiguity and asking for help when needed

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow data security protocols

• Self-motivated with strong attention to detail

Experience

• Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship during the internship period.
• Must be in good academic standing with an expected graduation date.

Preferred Qualifications

• Interest in higher education and lifelong learning
• Technical certifications are a plus
