Job Description

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Data Center Network Infrastructure Design Lead to work within our Data Center team to support a key client’s Data Center build program. To be successful in this position you must have great communication skills and be comfortable operating in a client-facing role.

*A low level of ad hoc travel may be required / The preference is a candidate able to easily visit a Data Center location for infrequent workshops.

Responsibilities:

Scope is to provide liaison between internal Product Owners, external Architectural & Engineering (AE) vendors and on-site construction teams for inflight Data Center builds and future designs. A good understanding of Division 27 & 28 specifications is required.

Technical Program Administration:

• Work with internal/external network infrastructure-related cross-functional and partner teams to ensure consistent deliverables with a focus on cost, schedule, constructability, quality, and safety
• Be responsible for gathering internal requirements and delivering solutions with respect to technical stakeholder needs
• Drive improvement in the design documentation processes
• Maintain a tracker of in-flight projects with status and site/building-specific issues for program awareness
• Participate in recurring meetings with A&E and internal stakeholder teams
• Maintain discipline applicable Construction Specifications, Guideline Documents, Standard Details, and Agnostic Design Sets

Design / Planning:

• Support land acquisition team with respect to technical due diligence efforts in Campus Planning
• Support master planning efforts with respect to technical content
• Support internal design execution team through all design phases of Telecom, and Telecom Civil disciplines
• Support site-level construction management teams with system-level issues, escalation and one-off designs.
• Support A&E, internal design execution team and stakeholders to maintain critical path and achieve key milestones
• Provide technical constructability reviews and scope analysis of the project documents
• Provide technical input for project-based value engineering efforts

Construction:

• Provide technical support to onsite construction management team during construction phase as needed
• Provide technical input for site-based value engineering efforts
• Support QA/QC efforts throughout construction phase and report any issues/gaps for program awareness
• Provide technical support for any post-IFC changes to the construction documents

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience working in a Data Center Network construction design role.
• Business and technical knowledge of network infrastructure (Hyperscale preferred)
• Relevant qualifications e.g. Construction Management degree, or BICSI
• Good knowledge of Network Infrastructure construction industry technical matters
• Valid US passport with no visa restrictions.

Additional Information

The salary range for this full-time role is $130K-$160K per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package.  Please note Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on candidate’s experience and qualifications.
