40Emplify Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Photographer to join our team! This position partners directly with medical providers and patients to create accurate and respectful visual documentation for medical, instructional, and promotional use while upholding Emplify Health’s commitment to patient‑centered care and privacy.
The ideal candidate combines advanced technical expertise with strong interpersonal skills and a keen eye for visual storytelling.
Major Responsibilities Include:
Capture images of patients in a manner consistent with patient-centered care. The photographer fully understands HIPAA policies and is responsible for maintaining those policies regarding photo and video taken within Gundersen Health System.
Must have soft skills. Demonstrates strong communication skills, ability to work with a team, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Demonstrates advanced knowledge of digital cameras, ambient and electronic flash illumination, and color filtration.
Produces detailed photos of such things as surgical procedures, specimen photography, and legal cases involving trauma and abuse.
Works with medical staff to capture images of patients for medical, legal, and educational purposes.
Provides photo and video services for staff, professional portraits, and special events occurring on and off campus. Provides images for use in brochures and marketing campaigns.
Demonstrates the ability to capture images that effectively tell a story featuring patients or staff. Visual storytelling samples from digital channels are preferred.
Processes and edits images for final output. Demonstrates advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud Suite: Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Bridge, and Media Encoder, etc.
Provides all types of ophthalmic imaging using a variety of equipment and software including Zeiss Fundus, Slit lamp, Optos and other external cameras. Provide angiography, ICG and other patient diagnostic testing.
Suggests procurement of new photo/video equipment and associated software while maintaining current equipment.
What's Available:
Full time, 1.0 FTE - 40 hours/ week
Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm or 8:30am-5:00pm
Location: Onsite, primarily based at our Clinic in Onalaska, WI; however, from time to time may have opportunity to work out of our La Crosse, WI Main Campus
Starting pay of $56,000/year and up based on your relevant years of experience.
What You'll Need:
Associate's degree or equivalent years of experience and education
2 years of relevant work experience in healthcare, photography, patient care.
License/ Certification: Valid Driver's License required
Strong working knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy standard
Proven ability to work directly with patients in sensitive or high‑stress situations
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop and Premiere Pro
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
