The Impact You’ll Make in this Role:


As a data scientist, you'll create tools for automatic processing and analysis of medical documents and build deep learning models for medical decision making using state-of-the-art technologies such as transformers and generative AI and through close collaboration with our experienced domain experts. Together with your teammates, you will scope applications, train and evaluate models and deploy models into one of our product pipelines. You will also establish requirements with our domain experts, evaluate data quality and communicate development progress. Finally, you will contribute to the strategic development of our deep learning portfolio by keeping up with the state of research and identifying promising opportunities.

You will make an impact by:

  • Translating business requirements into mathematical criteria

  • Processing and merging diverse datasets for deep learning, LLM or agentic AI

  • Training and evaluating models

  • Understanding and mitigating weaknesses of models

  • Deploying models into our cloud environment

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in computer science, mathematics, or related fields 
    or 
    Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of IT experience

  • Solid experience in Python especially in deep learning for text analysis and libraries such as PyTorch and Transformers

  • Solid grasp of statistics and exploratory data analysis

  • Gov cloud clearance needed (US citizenship required, clearance could be completed within the first 6 month after hiring)

Additional qualifications that will help you succeed in the role:

  • Ability to self-organize and communicate on multiple technical/business levels

  • Ability to extract insights from complicated data and present to an audience

  • Familiarity with AWS, Github, etc.

  • Experience with LLMs and agentic AI frameworks

  • Experienced in the ETL of large-scale textual data using tools such as PySpark
