The mission of the Microelectronics Research Center (MRC) at the University of Texas at Austin, is to perform education, research and development in materials and electronic devices. MRC is funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) through the National Nanotechnology Coordinated Infrastructure (NNCI). MRC is part of the top-ranked Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) department, which is the largest department in the Cockrell School of Engineering with more than 2,600 students and 74 tenured and tenure-track faculty. Purpose
The purpose of this research staff position is to carry out research in nanomagnetism and neuromorphic computing under guidance of the PI and working closely with graduate students.
Responsibilities
Thin film deposition of magnetic materials
Magnetic material characterization
Nanofabrication and device testing
Reports on progress at weekly meetings
Dissemination of research results at conferences and through publication
Required Qualifications
Experience in magnetic thin film growth and magnetic materials characterization
Bachelor’s degree in physics, electrical engineering, or related discipline
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in physics, electrical engineering, or related discipline with minimum 3.0/4.0 GPA
Previous research experience
Previous clean room experience
Salary Range
$37,044
Working Conditions
Lab work includes handling materials in technical equipment and fume hoods
Travel to disseminate results expected
