Job Summary

The Senior Manager Agile Portfolio Management role influences the delivery of the product and technology programs in the Interactive Technology (IXT) Agile Portfolio Management Organization. This individual understands Portfolio Management and Agile best practices; the team requires a person who can take complex problems and formulate a compelling plan to drive to solutions. Build strong relationship with your stakeholders and be the single point of contact for senior Leadership with accountability for portfolio/domain delivery and Agile transformation efforts.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and management to the Program Management team. Possesses staffing accountability, including recruitment and retention, hiring & performance management and leadership and professional development.
  • Trains, hires and develops APM staff. Has performance management responsibilities.
  • Overall accountability for successful execution of quarterly deliverables using Agile methodology.
  • Provides support for corporate budgeting and budget tracking.
  • Acts as a Domain Program Manager for their assigned portfolios/domain (area/teams).
    • Ensure project coordination/participation across all intra/cross-domain programs for their portfolio/domain.
      • Work with team members to aggregate domain owned program delivery status against commitment.
      • Coach team members to ensure Rally/Jira data are updated to populate Portfolio delivery dashboards.
      • Partner with domain team members to improve commitment to delivery status/risk reporting.
      • Deliver the portfolio/domain level status and metric reporting for leadership, business partners and delivery teams.
    • Participate in Quarterly Planning
      • Preparation and facilitation of work candidate review session for team to understand deliverable scope/expectation and Level of Effort (LOE) collection for capacity assessment and draw the line meeting.
      • Partner with Technical Product Owners and Key business partners to collect all work candidates.
      • Assist with Technical Imperative and Resiliency roadmap and set up of Rally/Jira Feature Groups
    • Ensures Rally/Jira data is accurate and adheres to compliance rules.
    • Ascertains dispositions for Quarterly commitment success rate.
    • Works with Program/Portfolio Managers to aggregate/validate assessment of delivered feature groups against committed.
    • Prepares and consolidates quarterly delivery accomplishment with the help of Program/Portfolio Managers
    • Supports a culture of continuous improvement and accountability by facilitating and documenting actionable improvements from the retrospectives.
  • Strong skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.
  • Knowledge of other Agile approaches/techniques: XP, Kanban, SAFe, TDD/BDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Agile Games.
  • Knowledge of Jira, Rally, Confluence, Tableau, Smartsheet.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools including Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Keeps abreast of new developments in project management methodologies, agile practices, best practices and industry standards.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Ability to work overtime as occasionally necessary.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Proven technical delivery experience in an Agile environment
  • Experience managing a team, including direct reports
  • Technical knowledge; preference given to candidates with background in AI
  • SAFe, Scrum, or PMP certification preferred (not mandatory)
