Digital and Model-Based Systems Engineer, Senior
Booz Allen HamiltonAbout the role
The Opportunity:
Are you looking for an opportunity to combine your technical skills with big picture thinking to make an impact in Digital Engineering (DE) and Unmanned Maritime Systems? You have the drive to understand your customer's environment and how to develop the right systems for their mission. Your ability to translate real-world needs into technical specifications makes you an integral part of delivering a customer-focused engineering solution.
As a Digital and Model-Based Systems Engineer, you will support the implementation of a DE strategy for our Navy customer. You will work closely with working group leads, shipbuilders, and other program stakeholders to accomplish several tasks. You will support the development of a DE environment and federated model framework consisting of model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and MBE models, digital requirements, digital threads, various modeling and simulation tools, and modeling standards and methods. Additionally, you will support the implementation of authoritative sources of truth concepts, including a digital artifacts structure, access, and CM policies, PLM tool, and zero-trust architecture. You will also support the establishment of common engineering processes, policies, and tools across the program.
You will support customer pilot projects for different model types via digital threads, enhancing the requirements development process, and ensuring traceability of models, requirements, digital documents, and data across the acquisition lifecycle. You will also be involved in developing reference architecture models, MBSE best practices across the program, conducting tool trade studies, and developing RDM process documents, training plans, Model Development Plans, and Model Management Plans. Furthermore, you will support the assessment of customer DE capability maturity and capability gaps, extract lessons learned, and develop metrics from each successive phase of the DE implementation. Finally, you will brainstorm possible solutions to DE implementation challenges with the program stakeholders. Join our team and help to turn requirements into actions that drive and deliver digital innovation for the U.S. Navy.
Join us. The world can’t wait.

5+ years of experience architecting solutions to meet requirements and use cases to be applied within the systems engineering lifecycle
5+ years of experience using the Magic Draw or Cameo suite of modeling tools in a DoD systems engineering capacity with the practical application of SysML and UAF or DoDAF
Knowledge of PLM, RDM, and Digital Thread Management tools
Ability to work in a customer-facing role, including technical writing for customer-deliverable documents
Ability to use MBSE tools and processes to create and manage tailored MBSE artifacts that capture analysis and the resulting engineering decisions and trades made during acquisition and development
Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary, dynamic team environment, including internal staff, external contractors, and government clients, to increase the use of MBSE for client acquisition programs
