ICF’s Digital Modernization Division is a rapidly growing, entrepreneurial, technology-driven department, seeking a seeking a highly motivated and talented Software Quality Assurance Analyst to support our Department of Defense (DoD) Child and Youth Programs (CYP) project. ICF works with government representatives and users to build and enhance CYP systems. The DoD recognizes the importance of providing military and DoD-affiliated families with access to quality, affordable childcare programs. ICF is seeking a highly motivated Quality Assurance Analyst to support digital solutions for a variety of Federal clients, including the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The analyst will support our FCC O&M and projects by collaborating and working with a cross-functional team to deliver quality, innovative, and highly scalable web-based applications to clients, and will serve as a Quality Assurance Analyst, performing testing and verification/validation activities for team IT deliveries. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with cross-disciplinary teams.
This Quality Assurance Analyst will participate in building and integrating web-based applications to support our DoD Military Family Readiness project. The analyst will support our DoD MFR project by collaborating and working with a cross-functional team to deliver quality, innovative, and highly scalable web-based applications to clients, performing testing and verification/validation activities for team IT deliveries. The ICF team performs custom software development to modernize and integrate siloed, legacy applications using modular design standards. The team works closely with clients and other contractors to ensure the performance and reliability of public-facing, mission-critical applications.
What you’ll be doing:
Manage and support daily work requests for one or more project teams by:
- Support automated and/or manual software application testing, including writing test cases, authoring test code, running test frameworks and scripts, and creating test reports.
- Design, develop, document, and maintain functional test cases and other test artifacts, including test data and data verification.
- Use Jira or similar tools to provide visibility to status, metrics, predictability, throughput, quality, impediments, and dependencies.
- Participate in requirements grooming for sprint preparation.
- Maintain regression testing suite by updating test cases to include newly added functionality.
- Take part in backlog grooming and sprint planning and work with the project team to identify risks/impacts to the system.
- Perform various types of testing including automated, functional, and regression testing on web applications.
- Work with developers to perform root-cause analysis, preliminary problem diagnosis, and implement bug fixes and change requests.
- Execute test cases and identify and track defects with clear steps to reproduce.
- Work with the scrum team to analyze user stories and write test scripts.
Required Skills:
- 3+ years of experience in various types of testing including front-end, regression, and performance testing on web-based applications.
- 2+ years of experience with SQL.
- 2+ years of experience integrating automation tests into CI pipelines.
- 2+ years of experience documenting and tracking defects and tests in JIRA and creating test plans for code promotion through tiered environments.
- Ability to obtain U.S. government public trust clearance.
- MUST RESIDE IN THE United States (U.S.) and the work MUST BE PERFORMED in the United States (U.S.), as this work is for a federal contract and laws do apply.
Desired Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or other related scientific or technical discipline from an accredited university.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and within one or more teams with excellent time management, organizational, and reporting
