POSITION TITLE: Licensed Outpatient Therapist

REPORTS TO (TITLE): Director of Outpatient Services

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

To provide quality psychotherapeutic and case management services to all patients (adults and/or adolescents) and their families in IOP and PHP programs, to serve as a member of interdisciplinary team supporting the organization's outpatient treatment program and philosophy, and assure the deliverance of quality treatment to patients and their families.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES:

• Group facilitation – planning and leading
• Case Management
  • Timely completion of Psycho-social Assessment (PSA) and Master Treatment Plan (MTP)
  • Discharge planning to include linkage to:
    • Individual mental health/psychiatric/recovery services
    • Follow up appointments
    • Communication with follow-up providers and identified support person
  • Submit concurrent review information to insurances as needed
  • Complete daily group notes
• Participation in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings
• Provide support to team members as needed

Requirements

Knowledge, Requirements and Experience:

• Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling Psychology or related field
• Licensed as an LMFT, LCSW or LPCC in the state of California

• Two years of behavioral health experience required. Experience with group therapy principles and practices preferred. Experience with IOP/PHP/Crisis preferred.
• Familiarity with Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

• Familiarity with continuum of care and clinical terminology
• Current CPR certification
• Current Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training or obtained within 60 days of hire

• Ability to facilitate groups and manage challenging dynamics while maintaining a therapeutic environment
• Ability to identify high risk situations and follow up with appropriate care
• Complete case management tasks in a timely manner (PSAs, Treatment plans, UR reviews, Discharge Instructions)
• Good judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize projects, work relatively independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
• Ability to manage group schedule, start/end on time, while ensuring all patients have the ability to participate
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Demonstrated commitment to working collaboratively as well as possessing the skills to lead, influence, and motivate others
• Proficiency with software and/or equipment (Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, expanding organization

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, this position is frequently required to do the following:

• Use standard office equipment and access, input, and retrieve information from a computer. Use computer keyboard with manual and finger dexterity and wrist-finger speed sufficient to perform repetitive actions efficiently for extended periods of time
• Communicate effectively in person, or via telephone, in a manner which can be understood by those with whom the person is speaking, including a diverse population
• Give and follow verbal and written instructions with attention to detail and accuracy
• Perform complex mental functions and basic arithmetic functions; interpret complex laws, regulations, and policies; collect, interpret, and/or analyze complex data and information
• Vision: See details of objects at close range
• Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
