POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The School of Social Sciences at Southern Oregon University (SOU) is seeking candidates for a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track, Assistant Professor in ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) in our CACREP-accredited CMHC program.

We seek applicants trained in Counselor Education and with a requisite background in counseling, psychology, behavioral health or a related area. The CMHC program is a full-time, in-person cohort model graduate program that prepares graduates for licensure in Oregon. Class format is primarily face-to-face, but may include hybrid, remote and online delivery.

Teaching responsibilities include a range of courses within the CMHC curriculum and may include Assessment, Career, Substance Use Disorders, Ethics, Practicum and Internship supervision and clinically relevant topical courses that relate to an applicant’s area of specialty.

Other responsibilities include advising, curriculum development, research, professional affiliations as appropriate, and other departmental responsibilities as assigned.
