Job Title: Director, Data Solution Architect

Reports to:  Chief Data Officer
 

Location:  Remote

The Role

The Data Solution Architect will be responsible designing data solutions across all Deckers functional areas interfacing with business teams and leaders. The ideal candidate will design comprehensive data solutions that support business needs, optimize data management, and drive data-driven decision-making. This role requires a deep understanding of data architecture, AWS cloud technologies, and data engineering practices. The Data Solution Architect will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, business analysts, and IT leaders, to create scalable and efficient data systems.

Your Impact
 

The primary functions of this role, include but are not limited to:

• Design data solutions that support the organization's strategic business goals.
• Architect scalable, high-performance data pipelines for data ingestion, storage, processing, and analysis.
• Ensure data security, privacy, and governance requirements are embedded into the architecture (GDPR, PII)
• Create comprehensive data models and workflows to ensure efficient data integration and transformation.

Collaboration and Leadership:

• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and design solutions that address business needs.
• Provide leadership and technical guidance to data engineering teams, application teams, and other stakeholders.
• Define best practices, standards, and procedures for data management, data integration, and data analytics.
• Work closely with Program Delivery and Engagement teams to ensure alignment and expectations are met with business stakeholders.

Technology Expertise:

• Design solutions leveraging cloud technologies (AWS Cloud) and modern data architecture (Data Mesh, Data Products, Pub-Sub models).
• Evaluate and recommend new data tools, technologies, and platforms to enhance the company's data infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot data system issues and provide solutions to enhance system efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Create detailed architectural documentation and data flow diagrams.

Who You Are

• Must have demonstrated leadership ability, business acumen, and industry knowledge
• Expert knowledge of data integration, data mesh, data warehousing, data storage, and data analytics
• Proven ability to build and lead integrated teams from various internal and external organizations across multiple sites

We’d love to hear from people with

• Bachelor's degree
• Master's degree preferred but not required
• 10-15 years of data solution architecture experience including large-scale complex projects OR equivalent experience.
• Extensive experience of data solutioning in retail industry including customers, consumers, marketing warehouse management, 3PL, product management
• Strong experience in solutioning complex projects and programs simultaneously across a global team.
• Experience in AWS Cloud implementation and security ensuring cloud data security, scalability, and performance.
