The IT Business Analyst plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between IT and the business. Duties/Responsibilities:
- Designs, develops and maintains reports and analytical tools, including ongoing monitoring and refinement.
- Partners with departmental teams to define and document business requirements for new metrics and reports as needed. Obtains requirements using interviews, document analysis, business process descriptions, tasks, and workflow analysis.
- Evaluate alternate solutions and design processes and systems, which include user impact considerations, cost and benefit analysis, and processing specifications.
- Critically evaluates information gathered from multiple sources, reconciles conflicts, and works with members of a team to uncover unmet business needs.
- Develops and maintains existing business data files. Helps promote end-user understanding of available data through training. Also makes sure that duplication of effort is not occurring within the organization or in IT for reporting.
- Carry out other duties as may be assigned or requested.
Required Education and Experience:
- High school degree or equivalent.
- Minimum 2-3 years experience as a business analyst or in a related field.
- Experience with SQL.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in one of the following subject areas: Computer Science, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Information Technology, or other related field preferred.
- Familiarity with Epicor Prophet 21.
- Proficiency in SQL Reporting, Query Tools, and best practices.
- Familiarity with foundational business and management principles.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
