Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman is seeking a Sr Principal Material Pricing Estimator to support the Material Estimating Team in the Pricing & Estimating Organization. This position will be located in Elkton, MD or Baltimore, MD.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare material estimates for proposal submittals by
- Understanding customer requirements through RFPs and other requests
- Collaborating and coordinating with proposal technical teams in developing the material estimating strategy by interfacing with Business Management, Procurement, Supply Chain, Program Management, Program Office, and Pricing Organizations
- Selecting appropriate pricing methods (PO History, vendor quote, etc) for each item included in the proposal
- Ensuring compliance with Customer and FAR Regulatory Requirements
- Meeting deliverables to ensure adherence to program schedule
- Support proposal reviews with detailed Bills of Materials
- Coordinate the collection and accumulation of cost, scheduling, and performance elements from internal customers
- Research and analyze historical data
- Interact with other functional areas to troubleshoot issues in support of proposal requirements and deadlines
- Develop cost models to support proposal efforts and overall pricing strategy
- Support risk and opportunity assessment, quantification, and analysis during the proposal process
- Present and brief material pricing, cost issues and risks to senior and executive leadership
- Prepare material price analysis to support business unit and GSC leaders in decision making as it pertains to specific pricing proposals
- Support fact finding, audits, customer negotiations, and certifications while ensuring TINA compliance during all aspects of the proposal process
- Support Pricing and Estimating team initiatives
Basic Qualifications:
- Must have 12 year of related experience in lieu of degree; Bachelor's degree plus 8+ years related experience. Master’s degree plus 6 years related experience.
- Strong user of MS Excel (advanced formulas, macros, functions, pivot tables)
- Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in Pricing and Estimating and/or preparing proposal bill of materials.
- Working understanding of FAR requirements & Global Supply Chain processes
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- A team player, independent, proactive and possess excellent problem solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to work and interface with various levels of personnel across multiple divisions.
