About this role: 

The Mechanical Engineer III designs and develops mechanical systems, component and subassemblies for use in water quality measuring instruments. This role may work on either New Product Development teams or Sustaining Engineering teams in a multi-disciplined engineering function. The Mechanical Engineer should be an experienced engineer capable of working with little supervision or guidance to contribute to the team. 

 

In this role, a typical day will look like: 

  • Designing, modifying, developing and implementing electromechanical designs and assembly fixturing for production. 

  • Participating in the testing process through test plan development, review, execution, and/or analysis of tests based on established specifications. 

  • Collaborating with multi-disciplined team members on project milestones, tollgates and tasks. 

  • Providing technical leadership and mentoring junior engineers. 

  • Staying up to date with developments in the engineering technical community and incorporating them where appropriate. 

 

 

The essential requirements of the job include:   

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering with 6 to 11 years relevant experience or a MS with at least 5 years of experience. Experience should be in a product development environment. 

  • Detailed knowledge of ISO 9001, or ISO 13485 or AS9100 quality systems highly preferred. 

  • Strong experience and background in 3D design and modeling. Solidworks experience strongly preferred. 

  • Plastic injection molding part design preferred. 

  • Machined part design highly preferred. 

  • Fixture/tool design.
