Starting Pay Range: $47K - $56K/yr

 

The Youth and Teen Program Manager for the Mary C. Winder Community Center is responsible for creating engaging programming for children, youth and teens. Your work will be vital in providing a fun, safe environment for all children, youth and teens in our care.

What you will do as a Youth and Teen Program Manager:  

• Develops and implements all components of the Youth and Teen programming to including, but not limited to, youth leadership development programs, after school programming, summer camp, teen programming and child watch services. 
• Supports and manages day-to-day operations, including program promotion, registration, growth and direct service delivery
• Develops age-appropriate individual and group experiences that promote positive development, encourage healthy lifestyle choices, prevent alcohol and substance abuse, and reduce risk behaviors.
• Collaborates with schools, businesses, and community agencies to develop and improve programs and activities that address the social, cultural, educational, emotional and recreational needs of Native American youth.

 

To be successful as a Youth and Teen Program Manager, you'll need:

• Associate’s Degree in Social Work, Education, Human Services or related field.
• At least 2 years’ experience in youth development, education, counseling or related area. Training or experience in youth and teen leadership development programs preferred.
• Certification (or become certified) in basic First Aid, CPR, AED and obtain Medication Administration Training (MAT) certification.
• Knowledge of, or willingness to learn about, Native American history, culture and traditions, and how that knowledge can enhance the growth and development of Native youth. Understanding of intergenerational trauma, alcoholism and substance abuse.
• Valid NYS Driver’s license required.
• Child abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire.
