Computer Information Systems Faculty

Regular Faculty work under the direction of their respective Associate Dean/Division Dean and are responsible for meeting all scheduled classes/labs/clinics and providing instruction in accordance with the philosophy and objectives of the College and the Department Chair's approved course outline. Regular Faculty are also responsible for using teaching methods and media designed to reach students of varying educational and experiential backgrounds to allow each student the opportunity to master the objectives of the course.
Regular Faculty are required to serve a provisional period from the date of employment until the completion of employment under three consecutive full year regular contracts.
This position may require working in virtual, weekend, evening, or various campus locations. Successful candidate must be willing to teach concurrent enrollment both on PPSC campuses and in local area high schools.
Anticipated start date is January 2025. The required teaching schedule is January to May. The required pay schedule is January to August; base salary $33,646.00 gross.
Beginning fall semester 2025 and ongoing: The required teaching schedule is August to May. The required pay schedule is September to August; base salary $67,292.00 gross.
Minimum Qualifications
- Completed Associate degree in Computer Information Systems or a closely related field from a regionally accredited college. (Related discipline areas: Networking, Cyber Security, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Technology, or Education).
- Five years of experience in the information technology field.
- Teaching or training experience.
- Documented applications and experience with Microsoft Office 365.
- Documented experience with different operating systems (Windows, Mac, Linux, or UNIX). Include which systems and years of use.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse population.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completed Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited college. (Related discipline areas: Networking, Cyber Security, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Technology, or Education).
- Five years of industry experience in the management of information technology systems, supervising technical support or systems analysis and design.
- Two years of teaching experience at the post-secondary level.
- Documented experience with Help Desk or customer service support.
- Documented experience with database systems and SQL, such as Oracle, PL/SQL, MySQL, MS SQL or Access. Include which systems and years of use.
- Documented experience in Web development software, such as HTML5, CSS, PHP, Javascript, Node.js, JSP, NetBeans, or ASP
- Bi-lingual in Spanish or another Latin-based language.
