Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Aeronautics System Sector is seeking a Manager of Industrial Engineering 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse, individuals in our Production Engineering organization. This position will be located in Clearfield, Utah.
This role is leading an industrial engineering team that is focused on the transition to rate and sustainment of an assembly program.
Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- This manager will lead 8-10 team members, including industrial engineers and engineering technician(s)
- Provide technical and leadership support to the Industrial Engineering team
- Drive strategic initiatives and tactical actions that deliver results to improve program cost and schedule performance. Ensure program milestones and performance goals are achieved
- Deliver on short-term, high visibility program requests, while creating a vision and executing a long-term strategy to influence change within and outside the organization
- Coach, mentor, and develop team of industrial engineers by assigning meaningful tasks, providing frequent feedback, and rewarding positive performance. Build trust within the organization and align team towards a clear set of impactful goals
- Administer to Industrial Engineering employees; including performance reviews, merit increases, promotions, skills inventory and personal resources
- Working side by side with Operations and IPT leadership by developing tools to help them achieve all business targets
- Sourcing key IEOM talent to ensure success of the Business Unit goals
- Working in concert with other functional homerooms and shared service organizations to coordinate, direct, and support the continuous improvement of people, products, processes, systems and services
- Oversight of projects and tasks assigned to the cross-functional ASBU organization and providing direction to ensure quality, schedule and cost are achieved
- Creating long range planning & strategies for the operations team (e.g.: staffing forecasting, recovery plan schedules, line balancing assessments, EAC/Budget forecasting)
- This role requires the ability to travel 10% to support suppliers and/or program related meetings

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and 5 years of professional experience in industrial engineering or other relevant engineering environment; OR a Master's degree and 3 years of professional experience in industrial engineering or other relevant engineering environment
- 2 years of leadership of people and/or projects
- Experience leading operations’ improvement initiatives resulting in cost savings/cost avoidance
- Experience with manufacturing environments utilizing common infrastructure and facilities for multiple programs
- Active DoD Secret Security Clearance last investigated within 6 years or enrolled in continuous evaluation
