Data Modeler for Group Finance

For the development of a robust Finance data infrastructure, a solid data model in our Group data systems (with ALFRED as the backbone) is required. Data coming from various sources is likely to have a source-specific structure and must be harmonized and standardized. Group Finance has an endorsed Data Vision, in which the application of a standardized exchange format (NEF) is prescribed. One of the applications where different source data comes together is the Aptitude Accounting HUB (AAH). The capability supported by AAH is to create accounting under applicable General Accepted Accounting Principles.

Our objective is to standardize the accounting creation capability across NN and offer a standardized service to more business units. This means that a Standard Exchange Format is a must-have for the incoming interfaces. We are looking for a Data Modeler, preferably with experience in the Finance & Risk domain, to help us with this challenge. The Data Modeler is a key role as a linking pin between business (data) users, report developers, data engineers, Product Owners, the data management teams, and management.

What you are going to do

• Play a key role in defining a standardized Data Exchange Format that must be used by the supplying sources to feed business event data to the target systems
• Set up and maintain the logical description of the exchanged Data Objects in Powerdesigner and the physical data-exchange pattern
• Collaborate with technical teams to define the physical data-exchange pattern
• Work with business users and solution teams to define and implement nonfunctional exchange requirements (e.g., frequency, data quality rules, validations)
• Document data objects and attributes in Collibra, including specifics like data ownership, data lineage, and data products
• Familiarize yourself with the Common Data Model (CDM) for ALFRED, NN's Finance & Risk Data Platform, and perform data modeling to create and update high-level conceptual business models, entity-relationship and dimensional logical data models, and detailed physical database design models
• Create functional and technical designs on data structures for data engineers, maintain data dictionary documents, table and data lineage models, and produce artifacts to support data engineering and communication with business (data) users
• Implement data strategies, build data flows, and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models
• Assist other roles (Product Owner, Business Analyst, Data Engineer, Tester, Architect) with requested information during implementation phases
• Ensure data integrity, consolidation, consistency, and metadata development in conjunction with data architecture and information architecture professionals, providing functional expertise support and guidance on test coverage and results

Who you are

You are an expert in data modeling, data architecture, and data solution design, capable of explaining these concepts to various stakeholders with different backgrounds. You have hands-on experience with conceptual, logical, and physical data models to ensure vertical data lineage and experience with data modeling tools (such as Power Designer, Enterprise Architect, Erwin, Oracle Data Modeler, Infosphere Data Architect).

You focus on the explain ability and long-term quality of data models, ensuring they reliably and measurably add value both now and in the future. You help the team by setting clear priorities based on the potential value of data models.

With your positive critical thinking, you continuously contribute to the further development of the Data & AI team. You have:
